Hey, guys!
Refuge is starting something new this semester. On Mondays, we will post a video asking a simple question to spark dialogue. Sometimes your voice keeps lost in what other people are saying and you feel your beliefs do not matter. Well, that’s about to change, because Refuge wants to know what YOU think.
We uploaded a video to YouTube asking the question, “What is the meaning of life?” Once you watch the video at the link below, go to our website OR Facebook page to tell us what you think…that’s all. Then, on Thursdays at coffeehouse, we will have a group discussion to continue the dialogue with Pastor Jeff, Jamin, or another speaker/panel. On Sundays during our Refuge service in the Lackey Chapel, Pastor Jeff will dig deeper and will give answers to the questions you may have on the subject, tying it all in.
Here’s the kicker…there is NO wrong answer and you will NOT be judged for whatever you belief is! You and your opinion/belief will be FULLY accepted!
So, let the dialogue begin…now!

QUICK UPDATE:
We will NOT have a Refuge worship service in the Lakey Chapel tomorrow, November 20th or the following Sunday, November 27th. If you are in town and would like to go to the contemporary service at Christ United at 11:15am, call me at 843.902.4192 and we can provide transportation for you. Also, we will NOT have Refuge coffeehouse on Thanksgiving Day, November 24th.

It’s that time of year again! Time for YOU to make a difference in the life of a child without hope. YOU can give that child hope through something as simple as a shoebox. Last year, Refuge packed 41 shoe boxes that went to children all over the world, mostly in the Dominican Republic. Join us again this year to pack even MORE boxes for underprivileged children while sharing the Gospel and making an eternal impact! Details coming soon!
WEDNESDAY: Volleyball at 6pm at the sand volleyball court in front of the dorms (The Woods).
THURSDAY: Coffeehouse and Upper Room prayer and worship from 7-9:30pm. Jaimy Beecher will speak about Outreach, Missions, and The Switch. Shuttle will make TWO trips this week. 1st run will leave in front of the Wall Building at 6:40pm and the 2nd run will leave in front of the Wall at 7:15pm. For some of you, this is the first time you have ever heard about Refuge, whether it be through our volunteers helping you move in, seeing a poster on a bulletin board, coming across our business card or magnet, or given information at the Community Fair or Club Recruitment Day.
We are extremely happy that you visited our website and hope that you are able to attend our worship service on Sunday mornings in the Lackey Chapel or our coffeehouse on Thursday night at Christ United Methodist Church. This semester is going to be HUGE and I hope each of you will join us in what God is doing on this campus.

We would like to invite you to a participate in a very rewarding experience!
This year, instead of moving freshmen in on a Saturday at the dorms, they have moved it to Friday, August 19th (all day); this is due to the fact that the students start class on Monday instead of Wednesday. I would love to have as many people as possible to help on that day since the majority of students are moving in. I wanted to create this event in advance so you can make arrangements to request off work if you feel God is calling you to serve again.
If you are unable to move “stuff” for the students, WE STILL NEED YOU! We are in need of volunteers to pass out Refuge cards, magnets, water bottles, and boxes of tissue for the parents.
Dates Available: Friday, August 19th
Time slots available are: 8-11am, 11am-1pm, 1pm-4pm
Once again, we’re going to need dollys so if you are unable to attend and can lend us any dollys you have lying around, we would greatly appreciate it and will return them promptly.
I hope each of you can make it out again to serve the incoming freshmen at Coastal! God has HUGE things in store not only for Refuge, but also for the campus! It’s great to see Him at work!
I ask that you pray for Refuge over the next month in preparation for the semester and how we can effectively reach the 9,000+ students this upcoming year.
